Meet The Cloth Doctor

High quality upholstery has the power to elevate your living space to something beautiful and personal. During Covid 19, like everyone else, I was spending more time at home and I became very aware of how the quality of interiors affect our mood. As it happened, I was also in the process of moving house and was struck by the volume low-quality furniture on the market. I was confident I could create something better. I enrolled on an upholstery diploma course and achieved my AMUSF qualification. This has enabled me to turn my passion into my profession. Upholstery

Restoration of chairs, sofas, stools and ottomans. This covers a range of services from simply replacing the top fabric to stripping back and rebuilding furniture from the frame up. Upholstery broadly falls into two camps - ‘Modern’ and ‘Traditional’. I will take you through the differences and advise on the most suitable solution for your project and budget. There are three costs: my upholstery fee, the materials used and the fabric itself. I can also help you chose fabrics. Please look at my fabric consultancy page for details.

Soft furnishings

Bespoke scatter cushions, headboards and bench cushions are a great way to introduce a personal touch and a pop of colour to your space with a relatively small amount of fabric or even remnants from a larger project.

Fabric Consultancy

There is an eye-watering amount of choice when incomes to fabric. There is also a great variety in the characteristics of fabric which affects their suitability for certain projects not to mention quality and cost. With my knowledge of fabric brands and contacts in the trade, I can guide your search for fabrics for your home, saving time and money. I will ask for a brief to find out your requirements and source fabrics based on your response to find something that works with your interiors and meets practical requirements.
